Improve Patient Outcomes with the World's Only Fall Injury Reduction Flooring

Reduce fall injuries such as hip fractures, brain bleeds, broken spines, risk of permanent disability and death - a MUST HAVE for all 50+ year old homes.

Mann Materials Anti-Fall proprietary cushioning technology protects independence and increase safety.

Falls are the #1 leading cause of injury-related death among seniors aged 50 and over

Why Should Occupational Therapists Recommend Mann Anti-Fall Flooring?

– More opportunities to serve your current caseload: Many clients on your books are fall‑prone or have had a recent fall. Mann Anti-Fall Flooring can be added inside their own homes to mitigate the existing limitations of current solutions. This supports client safety goals and appropriately increases billable clinical work within your scope.

– Impact‑attenuating safety flooring to reduce injuries for clients: “Residual risk” is real. Even with perfect rails, lighting and routines, falls still happen (syncope, orthostatic hypotension, medication side‑effects, neuropathy, fatigue). Most interventions reduce incidence; very few reduce injury severity. This flooring is one of the rare environmental mods that acts on severity.

– Coverage beats compliance: Interventions that require the person to remember (grab rail, hip protector, slip‑resistant footwear) can fail at the moment of truth. A passive, whole‑room surface doesn’t require a correct choice or a quick reaction.

– Where the person actually spends time: Bathrooms get attention (good), but kitchens, bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and dining areas account for a huge share of same‑level falls. This product is designed for exactly these zones, plus the bathroom exit area—not just wet areas.

– Fewer fracture claims and hospital transfers: A floor that absorbs ≈ 60 % of hip-impact energy can cut costly, reportable injuries

– Wheelchair & walker friendly: The firm-underfoot surface meets ADA / AS 1428 roll-resistance tests, so it improves safety without introducing transfer barriers or extra maintenance.

– Can be directly laid out on existing floor - no need for complex and time consuming projects

– Clinical evidence + independent lab testing results support assessment reports

What is Mann Anti-Fall Flooring?

Mann Anti-Fall Flooring is a flooring system designed for places where falls are a real risk. It feels stable and secure during everyday use, but in the split‑second of a fall it’s engineered to absorb impact—helping reduce the chance that a slip turns into a serious injury. The surface is non‑slip, wheelchair/walker friendly while the proprietary cushioning layer can absorb impact absorption by up to 60% - aimed specifically at reducing fractures and injuries for seniors.

How it works

Our proprietary, impact-absorbing metamaterial feels like a normal hard floor, but this material "collapses" on impact to reduce injury severity when someone falls. This is a continuous, wall‑to‑wall surface. There are no loose edges to trip over. Underfoot, it’s firm for balance and mobility aids. On impact, its internal structure deforms to dissipate force, then returns to form—adding a layer of protection ordinary tile, timber or vinyl can’t provide.

Where it goes

Rooms where falls are common and time is spent: kitchen, bedroom, hallways, living/dining areas, and the bathroom exit zone (outside the shower). This allows the reduction of injury due to falls anywhere inside the home, giving the individual complete protection 24/7.

Proprietary Technology Designed For Senior Falls

Our proprietary design achieves both walking comfort and shock absorption.

Until now, floor/mat coverings had to choose between easy‑to‑walk hardness and soft fall protection.

Mann Anti-Fall Floor is a brand‑new concept focused on reducing the risk of fractures if a fall occurs, not just preventing the fall itself.

  • Feels firm underfoot (or under a wheelchair).

  • Our “proprietary impact absorbing” structure keeps the surface floor‑hard, yet locally compresses to absorb shock, sharply lowering the risk of external injury when a fall happens.

  • In everyday use it performs just like a normal floor with no feeling of "mushiness"

Our special impact‑absorbing core collapses only when a large force is applied. When it is walked upon normally, it stays rigid and hard, maintaining balance and comfort.

By combining this mechanical core block with a dedicated surface layer, we can achieve protective characteristics while maintaining structural integrity.

Data Backed By Independent Laboratory Tests

Modern flooring is usually hard and unforgiving during a fall for the elderly. As people age, bone density goes down. This means a fall on common types of flooring such as ceramic/stone, laminated wood flooring, hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring, cork flooring, rubber flooring or even carpet can lead to serious injuries.

By installing our proprietary Mann Anti-Fall Flooring, one can reduce fall severity by absorbing a percentage of the impact, making it the safest choice for elderly homes. Our flooring is designed specifically to reduce fall injuries in high-risk areas in your home like the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living room.

Independent laboratory test results show our Mann Anti-Fall flooring is able to absorb up to 60% of impact. This 60% is above the bone fracture threshold of 50% while all other flooring types are below this threshold. In other tests such as the drop weight impact test, the femoral fracture load is 221kgf. The test results were that normal hard flooring > 320kgf while our Anti-Fall Flooring <170kgf. This shows that our flooring is shown to significantly reduce the chance of hip/femur fractures compared to ordinary floors.
