INCREASE REVENUE FROM LONGER LOS
Mann Anti-Fall Flooring is able to increase length of stay (LOS) by 4-6 months. This translates into $33.6k-$43K revenue per resident. For a 50 bed facility, this equates to $1.68-$2.15m.
REDUCE FALL COSTS
Falls cost organizations up to $380,000 a year. By protecting seniors from fall injuries, this amount can be reduced substantially.
INCREASE REVENUE FROM PREMIUM RATES
Families are willing to pay extra $100-$200 a month to save up to $1500 a month in reduced ER and fall rehabilitation costs.
INCREASE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Stand out from the competition with marketable “Safe Landing Rooms” or “Anti-Fall Rooms
REDUCE REVENUE LOSS
Fewer fall injuries = up to 14% reduction in move-outs and empty beds and care credits.
IMPROVED SENIOR OUTCOMES
Reduce fall fractures by up to 40%+ and significantly reduce ER visits from falls
IMPROVED STAFF EXPERIENCE
Community clinical teams spend about one full workday each week on fall-related issues alone, wasting time on investigations, documentation, care-plan changes, family communication, hospital transitions - leading to higher workload and stress
INCREASE OCCUPANCY RATES
Reduction in move-outs combined with increased in demand in anti-fall features allows you to increase occupancy rates
REDUCED LIABILITY RISK
Falls are the number 1 cause of claims (nearly 50% of all claims)
Falls are the #1 leading cause of injury-related death among seniors aged 50 and over
Why Should Aged Care Organizations Use Mann Anti-Fall Flooring?
Economic impact of fall injuries on aged care operators
Across assisted living and skilled nursing, communities are paying roughly $380,000 per year in fall-related costs -equivalent to nearly 10 full-time frontline care staff salaries redirected from the labor budget into avoidable expense. (BusinessWire – senior living falls report)
On average, the direct cost per fall is approximately $4,743 in assisted living and $6,306 in skilled nursing facilities. Executives most frequently attribute these costs (about 8 in 10 citing each) to:
- Increased level of care
- Additional administrative overhead
- Increased care staff time and cost. (ECRI)
When move-outs occur after a fall, skilled nursing facilities typically lose around $250 in revenue per day per resident while the bed is empty or the resident is hospitalized. Many operators also give revenue back: about 8 in 10 assisted living executives report they provide some form of rent and/or care credit when a resident leaves the community temporarily due to a fall injury. Taken together, these drivers translate to an average cost per fall event of roughly $5,267 to the operator when all direct and indirect impacts are factored in.
Staffing, workload, and retention
Falls injuries don’t just consume budget; they consume capacity. Community clinical teams spend about one full workday each week on fall-related issues alone (investigations, documentation, care-plan changes, family communication, hospital transitions, etc.).
85% of senior living/aged care executives report that falls significantly impact staff turnover, and nearly half say staffing is a top operational challenge. The result is a vicious cycle:
High fall volume → more workload, stress, and burnout → higher turnover → thinner staffing → higher fall risk.
In some settings, 45% of residents are experiencing three or more falls per year, further amplifying workload and risk across the portfolio.
Occupancy, move-outs, and commercial performance
Approximately 1 in 7 senior living move-outs is related to a fall. When residents move out temporarily after a fall, operators face lost revenue plus the risk that the resident will not return to the same level of care or to the community at all. Falls are also a front-end sales issue:
- 6 out of 10 senior care executives say that reducing falls would give their community a clear competitive advantage, helping differentiate their offering and support move-ins.
- For many families, a fall is the trigger event that leads them to seek senior living in the first place.
- 2 out of 3 prospective residents and families now explicitly ask about fall-mitigation strategies when evaluating communities.
Strategic opportunity: Mann Anti-Fall Flooring
Against this backdrop, fall injury mitigation is not just a clinical initiative - it’s a margin, staffing, and growth strategy. Mann Anti-Fall Flooring is positioned to help operators reduce the severity of fall-related injuries, which in turn can:
- Lower per-fall costs and reduce the average ~$5k+ financial impact per incident.
- Protect staffing capacity and retention by decreasing the volume of high-stress fall events that drive burnout and turnover.
- Improve occupancy economics by reducing fall-related move-outs and shortening disruption periods when residents leave temporarily.
- Strengthen the community’s value proposition to families and referral sources by demonstrating a proactive, evidence-aligned stance on fall risk management.
In short, falls are eroding NOI through direct costs, staff churn, and lost revenue opportunities. Integrating Mann Anti-Fall Flooring into enables operators to treat fall injury reduction as a strategic lever for both quality of care and financial performance, rather than a reactive cost center.

What is Mann Anti-Fall Flooring?
Mann Anti-Fall Flooring is a flooring system designed for places where falls are a real risk. It feels stable and secure during everyday use, but in the split‑second of a fall it’s engineered to absorb impact—helping reduce the chance that a slip turns into a serious injury. The surface is non‑slip, wheelchair/walker friendly while the proprietary cushioning layer can absorb impact absorption by up to 60% - aimed specifically at reducing fractures and injuries for seniors.
How it works
Our proprietary, impact-absorbing metamaterial feels like a normal hard floor, but this material "collapses" on impact to reduce injury severity when someone falls. This is a continuous, wall‑to‑wall surface. There are no loose edges to trip over. Underfoot, it’s firm for balance and mobility aids. On impact, its internal structure deforms to dissipate force, then returns to form—adding a layer of protection ordinary tile, timber or vinyl can’t provide.
Where it goes
Rooms where falls are common and time is spent: kitchen, bedroom, hallways, living/dining areas, and the bathroom exit zone (outside the shower). This allows the reduction of injury due to falls anywhere inside the home, giving the individual complete protection 24/7.

Proprietary Technology Designed For Senior Falls
Our proprietary design achieves both walking comfort and shock absorption.
Until now, floor/mat coverings had to choose between easy‑to‑walk hardness and soft fall protection.
Mann Anti-Fall Floor is a brand‑new concept focused on reducing the risk of fractures if a fall occurs, not just preventing the fall itself.
-
Feels firm underfoot (or under a wheelchair).
-
Our “proprietary impact absorbing” structure keeps the surface floor‑hard, yet locally compresses to absorb shock, sharply lowering the risk of external injury when a fall happens.
-
In everyday use it performs just like a normal floor with no feeling of "mushiness"
Our special impact‑absorbing core collapses only when a large force is applied. When it is walked upon normally, it stays rigid and hard, maintaining balance and comfort.
By combining this mechanical core block with a dedicated surface layer, we can achieve protective characteristics while maintaining structural integrity.

Data Backed By Independent Laboratory Tests

Modern flooring is usually hard and unforgiving during a fall for the elderly. As people age, bone density goes down. This means a fall on common types of flooring such as ceramic/stone, laminated wood flooring, hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring, cork flooring, rubber flooring or even carpet can lead to serious injuries.
By installing our proprietary Mann Anti-Fall Flooring, one can reduce fall severity by absorbing a percentage of the impact, making it the safest choice for elderly homes. Our flooring is designed specifically to reduce fall injuries in high-risk areas in your home like the bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living room.
Independent laboratory test results show our Mann Anti-Fall flooring is able to absorb up to 60% of impact. This 60% is above the bone fracture threshold of 50% while all other flooring types are below this threshold. In other tests such as the drop weight impact test, the femoral fracture load is 221kgf. The test results were that normal hard flooring > 320kgf while our Anti-Fall Flooring <170kgf. This shows that our flooring is shown to significantly reduce the chance of hip/femur fractures compared to ordinary floors.
